Extract and inspect the CSV
Extract the gzip file first. Keep the original export, check the 25 headers, and identify the fields you need. If your CRM has file-size or row limits, split the file into smaller batches while preserving the header row.
Plan your properties
Map business_email to your contact email field, business_phone to phone, and full_name or first_name/last_name to your name fields. Map city, state, postal_code, and agency_name deliberately. Store npn, license_number, lines_of_authority, source, and ingested_at in suitable custom properties.
Test a small batch
Choose a few representative rows, including a row with a missing email and one with multiple source values. Use your CRM’s current CSV import tool to map the fields. Review duplicate behavior and data formatting before importing the rest.
Preserve context and preferences
Do not mark the whole import as marketing-consented. Apply your own lawful-use, suppression, and recipient-preference requirements. Keep the snapshot date and source attribution so your team can understand where the record came from.
